THE PROBLEM

THIS PROBABLY SHOULD’VE STAYED A BAD IDEA.

B.I.A Supply Co. exists because some ideas get worse the longer you think about them.

So we stopped thinking about them.

This is clothing, art, objects and other questionable decisions made with way too much care for something that started as “wouldn’t it be funny if…”

BAD IDEAS APPROVED isn’t a slogan.

It’s the excuse.

THIS WAS NEVER ABOUT STARTING A CLOTHING BRAND.

It was about making the shit we wanted to see.

The kind of graphics that make you stop and look twice. The ones that feel like they belong on a shirt, a wall, a busted toolbox, a race car, an album cover or somewhere they probably weren’t meant to end up.

B.I.A exists for the same reason people build cars they don’t need, spend hours drawing letters nobody else can read, cover themselves in tattoos and obsess over tiny details most people will never notice.

Because giving too much of a shit about something is half the fun.

We’re not interested in chasing whatever aesthetic happens to be having its week.

We’d rather make something strange, loud, funny, heavy, ugly, clean or completely unnecessary, as long as it actually feels like something.

IF WE WOULDN’T WEAR IT, WE DON’T MAKE IT.

NONE OF THIS CAME FROM NOWHERE.

The art pulls from the stuff that made us give a shit about graphics in the first place.

Metal logos. Album covers. Tattoo flash. Skate graphics. Graffiti. Car liveries. Old workwear. Street signs. Underground art. Shitty photocopies. Oversized back prints. Things built by people who cared way too much about something most people didn’t understand.

SOME OF IT IS LOUD.
SOME OF IT IS UGLY.
SOME OF IT IS CLEAN.
SOME OF IT LOOKS LIKE IT SURVIVED SOMETHING.

THAT RANGE IS THE POINT.

B.I.A doesn’t pretend it invented any of this.

Culture has always been people taking what hit them, pulling it apart and building something new from the pieces.

We use references. We study the shit we love. We pay attention to the artists, brands and scenes that built the language before us.

But there’s a difference between being influenced and just biting somebody else’s work.

IF IT DOESN’T HAVE OUR HAND IN IT BY THE END, IT ISN’T FINISHED.

LOUD DOESN’T MEAN CARELESS.

Black and white is home base. Heavy shapes. Strong silhouettes. Big prints. Something you can read from across the room, with enough left in it to reward you when you get close.

ROUGH IS ALLOWED.
MESSY IS ALLOWED.
WEIRD IS ENCOURAGED.

But nothing gets to be shit by accident.

EVEN CHAOS NEEDS A CENTRE.
